Conference on Communicable Diseases and Public Health in Mediterranean and Balkans

About 200 persons, experts and representatives from international organizations (e.g. EC, ECDC, WHO, OIE, OIM atc.) and officers from National Public Health Institutes and Ministries of Health belonging to the Countries participating to the EpiSouth Network will attend the EpiSouth Conference on Communicable Diseases and Public Health in Mediterranean and Balkans. The conference will be held in Rome, Italy, at the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) on 21-23 April 2010. It will focus on the role played and the added value provided by public health networks in reference to training on field/applied epidemiology, cross-border epidemic intelligence, vaccine preventable diseases in migrant populations, and cross-border emerging zoonoses. In the occasion of the Conference, “EpiSouth Plus” a new project co-funded by the European Commission will also be presented.
