The capacity of a community for coordinated response is crucial when disasters occur. For the purpose of enhancing the overall response capacities in the PPRD South partner countries, as well as to improve the coordination and cooperation between the Mediterranean Partner Countries and the EU Members States in case of disasters, the PPRD South will organise and implement a full scale exercise and three targeted trainings followed by table-top exercises.
The main objectives of those actions are
- learning to work together
- improving the understanding of the international civil protection context
- familiarising with the best practices and tools for crisis management
The awareness by the PPRD South partner countries of the Community Civil Protection Mechanism will be reinforced, so as to take advantage of assistance by contacting the MIC in the event of disasters.
